Position Summary:
Assures patient education concerning medications, assure accurate medication dispensing to patients. Fills orders and prepare labels. Assists patients by collecting patient information and taking prescription orders in person and over the telephone.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Understands regulations and implements protocols to maintain compliance with regulations.
▪ Assures staff compliance with FHCW and MA pharmacy protocols and regulations.
▪ Recommends appropriate stocking levels and may order supplies or pharmacy stock.
▪ Understands and observes requirements for continuing education.
▪ Documents all transactions accurately and thoroughly.
▪ Conforms to compliance standards of 340B.
▪ Institutes and follows quality assurance protocols.
▪ Participates in pharmacy development efforts, and serves as a resource for health center performance
improvement activities.
▪ Establishes protocols to maximize participation in manufacturers’ free medication programs.
▪ Assures culturally and linguistically appropriate interpretation to patients.
▪ Attends and participates in meetings and trainings as required by FHCW.
